Starting May 27, the official moniker will be Nintendo Store, according to Nintendo of America on X . Basically, the video game company is mimicking the meme from The Social Network movie , in which Justin Timberlake's character tells Mark Zuckerberg to drop "The" from "The Facebook," because "it's cleaner." To be clear, other than the name change, everything else will stay the same for the online shop. Intriguingly, Nintendo launched the Nintendo Store app in November without the "My," so this branding alteration was seemingly telegraphed for roughly half-a-year. Additionally, most people probably never mentioned the "My" in everyday conversation; more likely is that the digital storefront is referred to as the eShop by longtime Nintendo fans.
